Bayu Australia is a company that specializes in the cultivation and processing of Stingless Bee Honey in Australia and Malaysia. Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality Stingless Bee Honey while ensuring ethical and sustainable practices that protect the pristine environment and the livelihoods of remote, impoverished communities.

Our story about becoming a world class brand of Stingless Bee Honey begins in Malaysia in 2015. Mr Hisham Yusoff started exploring the world of stingless native "Kelulut" bees and the unique healthy honey they produce. He quickly became fascinated with the traditional medicinal uses for this delicious tangy honey, which has recently been backed up by modern scientific proof that there are various health benefits specific to stingless bee honey! He began to learn everything he could about them.

After a lot of research, Bayu Kelulut was launched in 2018. Today, we have over 4000 Kelulut Stingless Bee hives spread across different parts of Malaysia, and our team of experienced local beekeepers work tirelessly to maintain their health and productivity.

A few years earlier in Australia, Adam Hutchinson was also discovering Australian Native Bees. While working in Conservation Land Management he learned that Australia is home to hundreds and hundreds of different species of native bees, but only a handful of those species are the type that produce honey and are unable to sting. In Sydney there is only one species of these stingless bees. 

Adam began rescuing native stingless bee colonies from trees that had fallen over in storms around Sydney in 2008. Also fascinated by these amazing little pollinators and their sweet and sour honey, he learned everything he could about them and started to connect and chat with stingless beekeepers from other countries. He met Hisham.

Despite the rapid spread in popularity for keeping native bee hives in Australia, stingless bee honey remains very rare. The main focus in Australia is producing more colonies to supply the demand for hives, instead of producing honey. 

In contrast the Malaysian government was the first country to create a national food standard for stingless bee honey and declared it the nations first superfood due to it's unique low gi sugar and high antioxidants.

Adam and Hisham met and of course became friends. Bayu Kelulut is now exporting pure stingless bee honey to China, Taiwan, Japan, USA..... and Australia!!!
